Oceania Cruises, the small-ship luxury cruise line, announced November 21 that its 1,250-passenger ship, Marina, will be refurbished beginning May, 2024.

The Marina is the last of Oceania’s current fleet to be refurbished. The ship’s remodel will add three new dining options to expand the line’s reputation as a foodie lover’s paradise: the Aquamar Kitchen, an expanded poolside ice cream parlor and a new casual al fresco Italian restaurant.

"Marina is a ship designed by foodies, built by foodies, for foodies," said Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises. "We are renowned for serving The Finest Cuisine at Sea, and this is not just a tagline, it is a mantra which we have built the business around. Food is the foundation of what we do onboard each of our ships, and globally, in the destinations we visit.”

Marina and its sister ship, Riviera, were the first of the Oceania fleet to offer an onboard cooking school. The cruise line boasts the highest percentage of culinary personnel, with one chef for every ten guests on each ship.

Aquamar Kitchen is a wellness restaurant offering breakfast options like cold-pressed juices and energy bowls, while lunch menu options include salads, wraps and plant-based offerings. The restaurant will also offer premium non-alcoholic wines and mocktails.

Waves Grill will transform each night into an al fresco Italian restaurant, offering fresh pizzas, focaccia, traditional Italian desserts and more.

Desserts are the specialty of Marina’s upcoming all-day ice cream parlor, located on the pool deck. Ice creams, milkshakes and smoothies ensure travelers can satisfy their craving for something sweet, or ensure a fun way to beat the heat.

Besides the new dining options, Marina’s public spaces, Penthouse Suites and other spaces will also showcase new upgrades.

Marina will debut its new look on May 18, 2024, sailing first in Northern Europe, visiting destinations like London, Oslo, Copenhagen, Reykjavik and more.
