There is something truly special about India. We guarantee it’s unlike any place you’ve visited before. Somewhere in between its history and culture, it has the power to capture your heart and soul and never let go.

There are thousands of interesting things to do in India. However, trust us when we say - just walking down the street you’ll feel the beat of life that runs through India’s veins. This beautiful county will provide you with some of the richest experiences you’ll ever encounter.

But where do you start? Well, here are our favorite things to do in India that we couldn’t recommend more.

Taj Mahal, Agra

We don’t mean to sound cliche, but in our opinion, the Taj Mahal stays a classic must see when visiting India. This incredible architectural tribute to love will have your jaw dropping no matter how many times you’ve seen it on film.

Insider tip: Every month a small number of visitors are granted permission to visit the Taj Mahal at night. Book ahead of time and witness the magic of India.

Natraj Dining Hall, Udaipur

If you are a foodie, then this undoubtedly has to fall on your list of things to do in India. Indian food has long taken the world by storm for its strong flavors and tasty combinations. If you’re traveling around Udaipur, we suggest visiting this well-known local destination to unlock the true flavor of India.

Varanasi

One of the oldest inhabited cities in the world, Varanasi has a magic charm to it. Varanasi is one of the Holy Cities for Hindu pilgrims and has been around since the 8th century BC.

Our tip for you: Make your way to the River Ganges at dusk and be part of the mesmerizing and devotional Ganga Aarti Ceremony.

Gali Paranthe Wali, Delhi

Are you craving the busyness of a new city? Well, be prepared to be met by a world of sights, sounds and smells.

Gali Paranthe Wali is set in Old Delhi and will give you thousands of variations of the same dish. You can expect to see Delhi-versions of the stuffed parathas lining this street and filing this. This wheat-dough flatbread is lightly fried on both sides and filled with pure bliss!

Visit The Himalayas

The Himalayas are one of those items that are undoubtedly on everyone’s bucket lists. And rightly so. This beautiful natural phenomenon stretches from Pakistan through India, Bhutan and Nepal. It hosts incredible scenery, bird life, plant life and most of all ancient monasteries.

And if you’ve packed the right clothes, why not opt for a skiing trip on the world's most majestic mountain range?

Holi Festival, Vrindavan

There is something truly incredible to take part in a country’s festivals and cultural experiences. And India has no shortage of them.

In our opinion, one of the coolest things to do in India is to take part in the Holi festival right in the birthplace of Lord Krishna.

Experience The Rajasthan Desert

Speaking about festivals, the Pushkar Camel fair is an absolute must-see. The fair happens once a year and camel traders across India gather around in beautiful chaos to get the best price.

Our advice to you would be to create an event out of it. Travel through the desert on camel’s back and sleep under the stars.

Chand Baori Stepwell, Abhaneri

Have you ever been to a place that just takes your breath away? You can feel the ancient history flowing through the soles of your feet. Don’t be thrown off by the size of Abhaneri at first. When you go into the ancient city that attracts so many people, you’ll find a mind-blowing 1200 year old water tank in its midst.

We guarantee you will find yourself blown away and wandering up and down the steps of this water well for hours.

Get Lost In The Incredible World Of India

Our top things to do in India do not even scratch the surface of this incredible country. The more you visit it, the more you will find yourself returning and uncovering its ancient secrets.

From ancient Yoga practices, houseboats and ancient cities - the list could go on forever (trust us). But for the time being Bon Voyage and take lots of photos!
