Uniquely NOLA Holidays

It’s no secret that New Orleans is different from most places, but this especially applies to the city’s unmatched holiday celebrations. We’ve curated 9 ways to explore the colorful, interesting, and unusual aspects of the city during the holiday season.

New Orleans holds many traditions, especially during the holiday season. Dating back to the 1800s, Reveillon Dinners became a tradition that Creole families started and would celebrate the start of Christmas with a big meal when they returned home from midnight mass. Today, the Réveillon tradition continues in the city’s top restaurants.

There are multiple opportunities to get involved in our holiday traditions. In true New Orleans fashion, you can catch a parade while in town or stop by one of the many holiday light displays going on throughout the city. There is fun on every corner when visiting New Orleans during the most wonderful time of the year!

Visitors can embrace the holiday magic as early as Thanksgiving weekend at the most festive hotels around the city.
